On June 21, the first lecture of this year's "Noto Satoyama Satoumi SDGs Meister Program"* was held at Noto Branch Office of the University Consortium Ishikawa and NOTOMORI in Noto Satoyama Airport. 37 participants, including online participants, attended the lecture.
In the first half, Sayako Koyama and Tsunao Watanabe of the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability Operating Unit Ishikawa/Kanazawa (OUIK) gave a lecture on the theme of "Satoyama Satoumi in Noto," one of the Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems, and disaster recovery utilizing Satoyama Satoumi based on examples from the Great East Japan Earthquake. In the second half, Hiroyuki Takahashi of Ame Kaze Taiyo, Inc. gave a lecture on the theme of "Connecting the Region with Outside the Region." The students listened intently to the diverse lectures, which were unique to this program, and actively exchanged opinions.
Over the next 10 months, in addition to a variety of lectures and practical training, each participant will identify a specific issue and will work through a process of analysis, implementation, and proposal development to find solutions.
